Interdisciplinary work here is guided by faculty with deep methodological training and experience in German and Comparative Literature, History, Media Studies, Political Science, Film Studies, Museum Studies, Philosophy, and Music, with particular strengths in 18th century literature, philosophy, and music; 20th and 21st century modernisms; political and critical theory; minority culture studies; German-Turkish studies; digital humanities; and cultural history.

Students benefit from close mentoring and interaction with the faculty. We value a culture of vibrant intellectual exchange and the development of teaching skills at many levels. As a result, we have an excellent record of graduate placements in the current job market.
